My name is Gastón Abril Rotger. Programmer/database administrator turned professional photographer for over 10 years now. I have the habit, on my birthday , of writing the age I turn on the palm of my hand and taking a photo of it . Below you’ll see many photos of my hand, the highest number is my current age. If the photos don’t show up, I was born in 1984. Do the math.
Born and raised in the best city in the world: Buenos Aires . Yes, it’s very porteño to think that Buenos Aires is the best city in the world, but it truly is. I’ve been working at Casa Rosada as a photographer for several years now. If you’re wondering what Casa Rosada is, it’s the equivalent of the White House but in Argentina.
During the pandemic I came back to my old love for programming . Al Sweigart released his famouse book Automate The Boring Stuff With Python in form of tutorial. Since then, I couldn’t stop learning and playing with Python.
Therefore, half of my days are spent taking photos, and the other half writing code of questionable efficiency. You have to start somewhere, right?
When I have free time, I enjoy playing video games visiting museums watching movies and, why not, traveling too .
I currently have three cats and a collection of 35mm film cameras that I hardly use. Not to mention the number of Polaroid cameras I have. Some of them are still “brand new”.
Without much else to say (I’ve already written a lot), I welcome you to my little corner of the digital world where, since 2009, I’ve been sharing photos and telling stories of this beautiful peril of being alive.
